KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – September 20, 2021): Karachi administrator lawyer Murtaza Wahab said citizens should support government and UNICEF in the fight against polio to protect future generations of disease.
“Polio is a disease and a risk which, if left unchecked, can lead to permanent disability for life,” the administrator said in a message to citizens, according to a statement.
He said doctors say the only way to prevent this disease is with the polio vaccine, so all parents should administer the polio vaccine to their children.
Administrator Karachi said polio vaccines can save your children from permanent disability.
“Do your part to make the polio campaign a success because, together, we can protect our children, our future generations and their future,” he said in a message.
He said that we must support the government for a better future of our country and our nation.
Earlier in a meeting with UNICEF officials, lawyer Murtaza Wahab, in his message to citizens, said the ongoing campaign to eradicate polio would be successful.
He said more than 2.3 million children will be vaccinated against polio during the polio eradication campaign in Karachi from September 20, during which the implementation of the COVID-19 SOPs will be assured.
The campaign will involve more than 23,000 polio workers who have been specially trained to implement COVID-19 SOPs.
Administrator Karachi said the fight against polio is a national goal in which our children have a future. We will continue our efforts to eradicate polio with the cooperation and collaboration of other international organizations.
